I have a glossy magazine addiction that borders on the extreme. Apart from being hideously expensive, they also tend to weigh a ton to cart about and often you are left wading through fifty pages of ads before you get to any of the magazine’s meat.
Thank goodness, then, for the really good quality FREE digital magazines that are now emerging. With the justifiably incredibly popular free weekly Stylist magazine now offering a free, full edition that downloads digitally to your iPad every Tuesday morning – before it even hits the newsstands – I thought it a good time to introduce you to another of my favourites: Two magazine.
Written by internationally acclaimed makeup artist team ‘Pixiwoo’ (Sam and Nic) each issue is jam-packed with beauty and fashion tips from the industry’s top artists, behind the scenes secrets of beauty shoots, interviews and a sneak peak inside a professional makeup artist’s kit each month.
There tend to be at least 200 clickable links in each issue, meaning you can immediately go to the product’s website and learn more about it or just purchase it immediately if you are instantly smitten. There’s a really good mix of high street, budget and designer makeup and beauty products featured, too, so definitely something for every budget.
The looks range from catwalk weirdness to sweet and simple with everything in between, and I love how you can zoom in to get a really close look at how eyeshadows have been blended, for example – something a traditional print magazine can’t offer. Every issue has a page dedicated to men’s beauty products, too, which is really refreshing.
Two magazine is released monthly and you can also download all the back issues for free, if one alone doesn’t sate your beauty fix needs. I’m a huge fan – it’s brilliant for downloading and saving to flick through on your commute or lunch break.

The standard of photography is breath-taking and although I might not choose to try all the out-there looks, it’s really inspirational and a great read for beauty professionals and makeup junkies alike.
